On April 26th, Barbara was honored by the St. George's Society of NY at their annual "English Ball Of The Roses." The event, which also honored AIG President and CEO Martin Sullivan was held at Manhattan's Rainbow Room. BTB was presented with her medal of honor by legendary English actor/singer/songwriter Jim Dale (Pushing Up Daisies, Carry On Films, Harry Potter Audio Narrator). Also on hand were Dr. Henry Kissenger, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Sir Nigel Sheinwald and Lady Sheinwald (UK Ambassador to the US), Sir John Sawers and Lady Sawers (UK Ambassador to the UN), plus the Broadway Knights of Monty Python's Spamalot.

BTB GETS HER OBE FROM QEIIBTB GETS HER OBE FROM QEII
Best-selling novelist, Barbara Taylor Bradford was awarded her OBE (The Order of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II on October 10, 2007. The official Investiture took place at Buckingham Palace in London. This award, which was announced in June, was on the Queen's Birthday Honors List. It recognizes Mrs. Bradford for her services to Literature. Her husband, Robert Bradford accompanied her to the Investiture.

Barbara Taylor Bradford was born in Leeds, Yorkshire and started her professional writing career on the Yorkshire Evening Post. She is the author of twenty-two international bestsellers, including her twenty-third novel, Heirs of Ravenscar. Over (81) eighty one-million copies of her books have been sold worldwide in 90 countries and over 40 languages.

"I am thrilled and excited, as well as very honored to receive the OBE from the Queen," says Mrs. Bradford. "Going to Buckingham Palace and accepting this award from Queen Elizabeth was a very special occasion."

1) A Texas Style BBQ at the Lupton Cattle Ranch. At this event, Barbara was named an honorary member of the world famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader squad.

2) A champagne gala at the Women's Museum of Dallas to benefit for the Friends of the Dallas Public Library. More than 250 people were on hand to meet BTB and enjoy a menu prepared by Darren McGrady, former Chef to Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana. Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert proclaimed this day as "Barbara Taylor Bradford Day" in Dallas.

A Gala Launch Party For The Ravenscar Dynasty
On September 28th in London, Barbara was the guest of honor at the brand new Bond Street location for Moussaieff Jewelers. The event also celebrated the UK release of Barbara's The Ravenscar Dynasty. A giant 40 foot poster of Barbara was hung over Bond Street to greet the arriving guests, including the guest of honor and an assortment of British celebrities and luminaries.

Barbara will be the subject of an authorized biography by renown biographer, Piers Dudgeon. The book, entitled 'Woman of Substance - The Life and Works of Barbara Taylor Bradford' will be issued in the UK by HarperCollins on February 21. It is the first biography on the 'First lady of Fiction' and details Barbara's rise to prominence from her childhood in Leeds through the current days, with extensive analysis of the inspiration behind each BTB novel. On Monday, July the 7th, Barbara was honored by the British Isle of Man with a rare postal honor. Barbara attended the ceremonies on the Island during the Tynwald Holiday Weekend where she was the guest of honor in a series of events including the unveiling of her new postage stamp. The primary highlight took place on July 7th where Barbara was invited to join Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in a series of public events, including a march in the royal procession for the Tynwald ceremonies. The stamp sheet features the cover of Barbara's brand new novel, Emma's Secret, which includes scenes that take place on the Island. A microscopic excerpt from the new book is imprinted at the bottom of the sheet and can be viewed through a magnified glass. These official postage stamps, which have received Royal Approval, can be ordered through the Isle of Man post office, including a limited quantity of autographed First Day Covers.
